Lynchburg Humane Society Website Redesign

Lynchburgs Mission: They are leading the way in providing a compassionate, safe community for animals and people through progressive life-saving programs, services, resources, and education.

The Problem Statement

The Humane Society, a non-profit organization which has cared for lost and homeless pets for over seventy years to save them from possible euthanization, is in need of support to grow and rebuild their website in order to effectively serve and advocate for animals in need.

Stakeholder Interviews
Can you tell me about your experience with the current website?

Our website was designed by a friend of one of our directors. I have my issues with it but am thankful for the overall functionality.

What are the main goals for the website?

I would say the main goals are to educate our community, market the pets, and get people involved

What are some challenges with the current website?

The design is a little outdated and the design can make it so pages are wordy with not much to break it up.

Storyboard

Humane Lynchburg GP2.png

Sarah officially moves to Madison Heights, VA, which is a couple states away from her hometown, to finish her schooling and get a job.

Humane Lynchburg GP2 (1).png

Sarah knows she wants to volunteer & get her dog trained so she researches where she could do both somewhere around her school/her apartment

Humane Lynchburg GP2 (2).png

Sarah comes across the LHS website, and recognizes the name because of a couple of classmates who had volunteered prior

Humane Lynchburg GP2 (3).png

She finds it difficult to get in touch with who she needs to about volunteer opportunities, and the class she wants to sign Oliver up for is full

Humane Lynchburg GP2 (4).png

She finds a singular email and decides to try to reach out to them to see if they can redirect her questions

Humane Lynchburg GP2 (5).png

She gets an email back from the front desk, which was the only email she was able to find, and they re-route her to somebody who can better assist her

Humane Lynchburg GP2 (6).png

She signs Oliver up for a training class, and signs up for an orientation to volunteer for community service hours to transfer to her school
